Duratec was engaged to replace the existing failed expansion joints located within the upper deck of the Westfield Marion shopping centre car park.

As a new store was opening directly below the car park, it was imperative that the area was
made watertight within the strict project timelines.
Duratec selected the Sikadur Combiflex system for the install based upon the large movement criteria of the expansion joints. Following removal of the defunct steel cover plates, Duratec removed the failed joint system, prepared the substrate through diamond grinding and installed the new Combiflex system.
As part of the works, a fabricator was engaged to design and manufacturer the new cover plates. Due to the successful install below Duratec was able to install a new flat profile plate with in-built rubber seal and shock absorber creating an enhanced driving surface for the centre’s customers.
