Scrivener Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Molonglo River, impounding Lake Burley Griffin in the Centre of Canberra ACT. The dam was completed in 1963.
Project Details
Sunwater was contracted to operate and maintain Scrivener Dam on behalf of the National Capital Authority (NCA). A recent condition audit of the Scrivener Dam facilities has identified substrate corrosion and degradation of the protective coatings on the downstream surfaces of the two fishbelly gates, which require refurbishment and repair.
Duratec won the contract to refurbish and repair the downstream surfaces of the fishbelly gates at Scrivener Dam to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the gates.
Highlights
- Effective management of sensitive environmental area (lake/river).
- Encapsulation of entrances / exits of fishbelly gates for blasting works.
