Duratec was engaged by the owners’ corporation for the apartment complex at 3 Heard Street and 50 Wilkins Street, Mawson — via its strata management company, LMM Solutions — to be the managing contractor of the design and rectification of issues with the swimming pool and surrounding amenities.
Duratec engaged a renowned Canberra landscape architect to develop a modern concept for the ageing pool area. The project needed to adhere to a strict four-week construction program so as to minimise disruptions to stakeholders. Even with the deadline, Duratec was able to deliver a newly constructed retaining wall, demolish and replace dilapidated concrete with new concrete pavement, and construct new garden planter boxes, embedded with local flora species.
As a finishing touch, Duratec installed new poolside furniture and seating, along with an updated electronic fob entry system for the surrounding fence. The finished result of Duratec’s works was a
welcoming and useable space for the owners and residents of the apartment complex.
