Duratec was engaged by strata management company, Independent Strata, on behalf of the owners of 4 Jardine Street, Kingston, as the managing contractor in the investigation of water ingress and rectification of efflorescence issues in the underground car park.

The works needed to be completed within one week and cause minimal disruption to the residents of the complex.

To remediate the damage, Duratec first had to grind and remove the efflorescence over unit 31’s parking bay in the underground car park. The concrete cracks then needed to primed in preparation for the crack injection filler and a water-proof coating applied to reduce further efflorescence.

For the safety of the residents, the Duratec team set up an exclusion zone in the car park and implemented dust control measures to maintain safe air quality.
