132 Murray Street was constructed in 1927 as the state
electricity headquarters and consists of a ground level with two upper floors.
Details
Currently the building is unoccupied but is configured as office space. Duratec was contracted by
Western Power through Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions to perform the following remediation works:
- Facade remediation including concrete, render, crack and brick repair and painting.
- Sash window restoration.
- Shop front restoration/building works.
- Replacement roofing works.
- Lighting installation.
- Signage replacement.
- Demolition/strip-out of the interior offices.
Highlights
- Reality space modelling was also utilised to create a fully navigable model that can be viewed in a location remote to the site. This type of space modelling can be delivered in a shorter space of time than traditional survey grade scanning techniques and annotations and documentation are easily embedded into the model for future reference.
- We were also delighted to be part of the Perth Heritage Days programme in October, when we opened the 132 Murray Street restoration works to the public. Marija Jelavic of Perth Heritage Days commented: “The pride and affection you all have in this building is evident and this was echoed by the amazing response from the public with many stories and comments conveyed to us, particularly from people who worked there over the years. Each Perth Heritage Day we try to give one special experience to the community and we believe 132 Murray Street was it for 2017!”
