Port of Bell Bay is the major shipping port for the north east of Tasmania, original dredging works began in the 1950s. The port services both the freight and industrial needs of a large section of Tasmania.
Details
The port has 7 berths a rail link and major road access to Launceston. Duratec was engaged for stage 1 of the remediation of berth 6. The scope of works included the construction and installation of custom designed access platforms, hydro-demolition to the failing concrete, replacement of
corroded reinforcing steel, installation of anode system and reinstatement by dry spray shotcrete (Gunite).
Duratec employed and trained all local labour to fulfil the roles of Site Supervisor, Leading Hand and Specialist Applicators.
